    CFO O'Brien Leaves Jones Soda for Coffee Biz


    Jones Soda Co. said its Chief Financial Officer, Michael O'Brien, had resigned.  A search for a replacement had been initiated. Seattle-based Jones is a supplier in the 'premium soda' category and has a distribution in major U.S. retailers, that is skewed West, Midwest, and South. WhoopAss Energy Drink® and Pure Cane Soda® are two popular brand names in the Jones' family of drinks.

    O'Brien, Jones' CFO, was with the company since 2008, and grew with the business alongside two different chief executives. He is leaving to join a privately-held coffee business, once again in a financial executive capacity.

    The company recently moved into a new 9,500-square foot headquarters, The Palmer Court, in the historic Pioneer Square area of Seattle. O'Brien plans to assist with the transition to a replacement exec over a two-week period, said a company statement.

    "This past week has brought excitement with the move into our new headquarters building, and we are rapidly evolving as a company and our team is no exception," said Jones William Meissner, chief exeuctive of Jones Soda Co. "Michael served Jones as CFO during some of the toughest times, and we wish him well in his future endeavors."
