Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Names Gibbs CAO - Kandessa Media

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) named Stephen L. Gibbs as vice president and chief accounting officer (CAO). GMCR is the company that is responsible for the Keurig (K-cup) single serve platform, which has been adopted by major quick serve coffee chains moving into retail licensing and distribution, like Starbucks Coffee and Dunkin' Donuts.

Just this year, Starbucks indicated the K-cup business alone was a one-billion dollar market worldwide.

The appointment of Gibbs into the newly created position at Vermont-based GMCR is effective immediately. Gibbs is now charged with the strategic oversight of GMCR's accounting operations, which includes financial reporting and systems, financial policies and controls, and accounting and tax reporting, according to a company statement.

Gibbs will report to Frances G. Rathke, CFO and Treasurer of the $2.7 billion annual GMCR enterprise, which is forecasted to double its sales from last year come September.

A certified public accountant (CPA) and 15-year veteran in Finance, Gibbs' stints have included positions at Scientific Games Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company and TRX. Most recently Gibbs was VP, CAO and corporate controller of Sientific Games Corp. The Florida A&M graduate started his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP.
