    Uno's Fast Casual Concept Lands Mega 30-Unit Deal in Texas - Kandessa Media

    Uno Dué Go announced plans to open 30 locations throughout Texas with FGR Food Corporation. The fast-casual concept with a focus on organic, natural and locally sourced ingredients will open units in suburban locations, airports, hospitals and stadiums. This landmark franchise agreement is Uno’s first major expansion of the innovative quick concept, now operating in its third year.

    Dallas-based FGR owns and operates multiple franchise concepts in Dallas, Texas. FGR opened the first two franchise Uno Dué Go restaurants in December of 2008 in the Dallas Fort-Worth airport, both tremendously successful, according to FGR.

    "We are thrilled to be introducing more of Texas to the great tastes and hospitality of Uno Dué Go,” says Rob Goldblatt, chief operating officer. FGR expects the first locations to be open within the next year.

    Founded in the shadows of Uno Chicago Grill, Uno Due Go's most popular item is the pepperoni deep dish pizza, followed by the turkey chicken Panini and calzone, along with its turkey wrap. "The wraps are all under 550 calories," said James Strobino, Uno's senior vice president, Concept Development, in a Quick Serve Leader interview earlier this year¹.

    Uno Dué Go offers both made-to-order and ready-to-go menu items.

    Frank Guidara, Uno’s president and CEO of of the Uno Dué Go concept, says, “FGR saw the uniqueness of the concept from the very beginning and because the concept has now proven to be profitable for them, they are looking to quickly grow the brand."

    Industry veteran Guidara is probably best known for his leadership skills in turning around the Au Bon Pain Cafe concept in the early part of the millennium, and for his support of charitable giving to military heroes and veterans.

    "It is a strong return on investment – we have seen three years of double-digit growth and excellent operating results since the day we opened," notes FGR's Goldblatt.
